Remember its not always necessary to wait for me to arrange a workshop. If you have something you'd like to learn and can get a few friends together with you, we may be able to schedule a workshop together.
Weekend Medicine for the Earth Gatherings (Workshops)
This powerful class teaches you how to transform toxins in the environment and in yourself. Medicine for the Earth, developed by Sandra Ingerman, draws from many traditions of healing integrating them into a comprehensive system of transmutation. People have lost touch with their magic, and the knowledge that they are the creators of the world around them.
As within, so without. This class will reintroduce you to your own creative forces as well as show you how to create positive changes. You will learn about the creative power of the divine and how to achieve a divine state of consciousness to effect healing in yourself, in others, and in the environment.
Medicine for the Earth is frequently taught using shamanic techniques but it is also available for those unfamiliar with shamanism using guided visualization, meditation, singing and dancing.

Learn to walk the path of the Shaman. Shamans from the beginning of times have used similar techniques to access the wisdom of nature and the spirit around us. It is the first spiritual practice of the world, and its power resonates with us today. In this class you will learn the basic techniques common to shamans from around the world.
At the end of this workshop you will know how to journey shamanically, using the techniques of core shamanism.
Introductory Shamanism with Medicine for the Earth Techniques
Learn the methods of the shaman in this introductory class to shamanism. This class also integrates some techniques from the Medicine for the Earth gathering which show you how to make a deeper connection with nature, as well as prepare you for the weekend Medicine for the Earth Gathering. A meditation guided ceremony could also be included using Medicine for the Earth Techniques. This class is available in a one day or full weekend format.
At the end of this workshop you will know how to journey shamanically, and how to use a meditation Transfiguration to heal the Earth and other people.
Shamanism and Creation
Somewhere on the journey from childhood into adult society we loose some of the magic and mystery we had as children. We no longer see the magic of nature or our imaginations. Our society does not honor the power of the imagination or intuition. In this class we will explore the power of creation through shamanic means, learn about creation in ancient myths, and we will both explore and evoke our own creative power.
Return to Creation - Shamanic Art Making
Darkness is the prima materia, the beginning place. The seed is sheltered in the darkness of the soil before it emerges into being. And if light was the first act of creation, the most primal creative act also emerged from darkness. In this workshop you will learn a shamanic technique to return to the primal origin place where all acts of creation begin: darkness. Through the journey method taught in class you will retrieve creative seeds from the darkness, and then return to express them through the creation of art - in this case images. The image making tools will be crayon and paper, to keep the image making process simple and un-intimidating. Art making skill is not required or needed.
If you are skilled with another media such as pencil, charcoal or pastels you may bring and use the media. Keep in mind that the focus is on learning the journey method. You will be creating art in an altered state of consciousness, so you don't want a media that requires fuss or care. You want to be able to draw / color without thinking.

Extraction is a technique, where a healer removes energy that is stuck or does not belong in the client's body.
In this workshop, you will be taught to fill your own body with positive energy, which aids in the process of removing stuck energy from the client, and keeps the energy you remove from entering you. You will be taught how to recognize where energy is stuck, and the process for removing it from a client.

Shamans have long worked with death and dying. In this class you will explore the places that souls can visit after you die, which can be a comforting knowledge to have in life. Through an exercise in a group, you will learn how to move souls that are stuck here (did not cross over) and move them into the light. You will also learn techniques that can be used to help the non-journeyer connect with the spirit world, a useful technique in many situations but particularly when you are working with the dying or someone who is ill.
Soul Retrieval
Soul Retrieval is an ancient shamanic technique in which the shamanic practitioner retrieves lost parts of the client's soul and returns them to that person for his or her healing and empowerment. Soul retrieval is a useful method for practitioners because it can address depression, inability to move forward, feelings of not being present, as well as health issues. The return of one's soul can break patterns, open oneself to more choice, bring more enthusiasm into life, and give greater feelings of wholeness and a sense of well being.
Participants will be trained how to work with the issue of soul loss, explore causes of soul loss, learn how to track a client's soul and return it, as well as learn how to work with life after soul retrieval. Participants will perform a soul retrieval, as well as receive one. You will be given training to help with client's integration process after a soul retrieval through journey work, ritual, and ceremony.
Transfiguration
There's plenty of talk about finding your light, and being fully present but how do you go about doing that? How do you align yourself with the divine? You are already that which you wish to become, but if so why does it seem so hard to make the change to a new way of being? Transfiguration is a powerful way of making these changes.
Transfiguration has a rich history. While most of this history can be found in Christian tradition concerning Jesus's transfiguration, there is also a basis for this technique in alchemy as well as other stories of its healing power. When you learn this technique and begin to employ it, your life can begin shift positively without putting conscious effort into changes. The technique can be used in the healing of others, for personal change, or to help heal the environment.Transfiguration is the act of bringing the highest part of your being into full presence, as well as evoking divine presence. There are various techniques to achieve this state, so this class can be taught with or without journeying as required. While this class will not have a Christian focus, we will discuss the Apothatic (Group within Christianity) point of view that it was the ultimate goal of Christian/Jesus's teaching.
Underlying this workshop is the philosophy that its not what you do (doing), but who you are (being) that changes the world.
Guests and Associate Workshops
EarthBLISS will sometimes host workshops, inviting gifted shamanic and spiritual teachers to the Chicago land area so that the can share their knowledge with us. EarthBLISS also has associates in the Chicago Land Area which offer workshops. The schedule will list these workshops from time to time to let you know what is going in and around Chicago. Look for workshops on a wide range of topics for healing and shamanic practice.

Room: The room should be in the J building
Directions to J building:
Enter the college off of Houbolt Road. You will be turning onto Cathy Drive which is the college entrance.
Go straight until the road ends with a T. Turn right when the road T’s. Follow the signs to parking for J building. When you enter J building you will see the Service Center directly in front of you. Go around the service center an use the elevator or stairs to go down to the lower level. This is where the cafeteria is. If you face the soda machines turn left and follow the signs for Chef’s table. You will see your room is next to the Chef’s tableThis is a one day course to teach how to do the Shamanic Journey. This is a pre-requisite for my other workshops (unless you have studied with another teacher.)
The journey is a powerful technique for personal growth and healing. In this workshop you will learn how to journey, and you will meet your power animal and a spirit guide. The technique and these teachers will support you after the workshop as you move forward on your spiritual path. The journey is a tool which supports all life goals. It is a way of directly accessing spiritual information.
This class is open to everyone, but registration must be done through Joliet Junior College's continuing education registration. Students can sign up for class when Winter registration begins 815-280-1555 to register. The class number is LLC 3847 T1. You should bring a bag lunch.
What to bring:
A drum and/or rattle. (You can create a rattle by putting small stones/popping corn or similar in a water bottle.)
Something to cover your eyes while journeying.
A blanket and/or pillow so that you can be comfortable lying on the floor to journey.
A journal/notebook and pen to write down things you experience.
Soul Retrieval Training - 5 Day Residential

I have been discussing offering the workshop with my co-teacher from 2007. We have just begun discussing when we could have it and where. Last time we had the workshop in Watervliet which is a town in South West Michigan. It was a lovely sight for a residential workshop (one where you stay on site.) Hours: March 21st 9:30AM - 6:00PM, March 22nd 9:30AM-5:00PMIn this class will teach a variety of shamanic techniques for personal growth and some healing for others. This class will be like a survey class which will give you an introduction to a variety of techniques so that you can discover what you want to use in your own shamanic practice. Techniques will include divination, transfiguration, rocks and crystals, as well as others.
I am having this at the Mokena Environmental Learning Center because it is in a beautiful forest preserve. Its located south of Orland Park, IL right off of Wolf Road before route 30. This will allow us the opportunity of going out and working with nature.

Directions to T building:
Enter the college off of Houbolt Road. You will be turning onto Cathy Drive which is the college entrance.
Go straight until the road ends with a T. T building will be directly in front of you. Make a quick jog to to left and then right into the parking lot. T building has a sculpture in front of it that looks like a piece of Stonehenge with a marble ball on top of it. Enter T building and look to your left. You will see a glass wall that says conference center. Go into the conference center and room 1000 will be the first room on your left.This is a one day course to teach how to do the Shamanic Journey.
